“The IQL, an extended-length variant of Cadillac’s already colossal electric Escalade, is the largest SUV currently on sale. It’s longer, wider, taller, and roughly 2,500 pounds heavier than a Tesla Cybertruck. In more simple terms, it is absolutely enormous….yes, the IQL feels massive behind the wheel, and the huge blind spots behind either rearview mirror made me nervous at every crosswalk, but the big Caddy is surprisingly easy to drive. I thank camera-aided visibility for helping me not crash into stuff, and rear-wheel steering for making the IQL’s surprisingly tight turning circle comparable to that of a regular Escalade despite being 18 inches longer.”
“Like the IQ, the IQL is packed with technology. It has the same 55-inch curved screen that spans the width of the vehicle. The infotainment system comes with a standard AKG 21-speaker audio system or the available 38-speaker system that increases to 42 speakers with the executive second row package. It has bidirectional charging so the SUV can be charged at home or be used to charge the home. In terms of grunt: 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque with Velocity Max, a power boost. That is good for a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds, according to GM.”
“The Escalade is truly a go-big-or-go-home vehicle, and for that reason, we’d recommend springing for the long-wheelbase IQL in Premium Luxury trim. Like the standard IQ’s Luxury 2 model, the IQL Premium Luxury will likely offer fancier upholstery, 16-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function, a 36-speaker AKG stereo system, a night-vision feature, and loads of other desirable features. If you find yourself in the rear seats more often than in the front, we’d also suggest the optional Executive Second Row Package which ups the chauffeur factor with stowable tray tables, 12.6-inch front headrest-mounted displays, a rear control center, dual wireless phone charging pads, massaging, heating, and ventilated seats, with optional 14-way power adjustment and headrest speakers.”
